What you need to know about Southern African 4x4 rentals

4×4 driving is not required for renting from Zulazula. You are unlikely to hit roads that require any serious 4×4 knowledge.

As is, the vehicle is equipped for two people.
However, up to five people can fit in the vehicle and you can rent extra camping gear is an additional cost.

Unlimited kilometers are included in our rentals - drive as far and as much as you want!

You may drive the vehicle on all gravel and tar roads. Insurance does not cover damages that occur on unrecognised roads.

Our vehicles have comprehensive cover with OUTsurance that covers South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique.
Please be aware that road side assistance is only available in South Africa

We offer one way rentals in South Africa. One-way drop-off fees may apply and are quoted on request.

50% deposit is required upon booking and can be made via bank transfer.
You can choose to pay the balance via bank transfer no later than 7 days before pick up or by card on pick up day.

The minimum rental period is 3 days within South Africa and 7 days across borders.

Please bring your original drivers license and passport along with copies of both.

Cancellations more than 60 days in advance incur a 20% cancellation fee.
Any cancellations with less than 60 days notice incur 50% fee (full deposit).
Rentals cancelled within 48 hours of booking will not be subject to cancelation fees.

Yes, as long as your license is in English.
If not, you will need an international driver license which can be purchased at your local licensing department.

You are welcome to return the vehicle early. Unfortunately, no refunds will apply

Please contact Zulazula immediately so we that can assist in the case of breakdowns or accidents. We will coordinate with our insurance providers.
In the case of an accident you must report the incident to the nearest police station within 24 hours
